A very informative talk

NEW YEARS EVE The best night at the club for a long time, the scheduled singer became ill with Covid (We wish her well), but thankfully we are indebted to Lucie Dunning (See below) who drove all the way from Wiltshire at short notice to entertain us. She was excellant with a wide range of songs to set the mood. We hope to see her again at the Club soon. On Friday 10 December, the Club Christmas lunch saw a full house with a varied and excellant buffet and a free glass of Brandy.

On a recent visit to the Club by The Rt.Hon. Sir David Evernett MP members were entertained with an informative and interesting talk about his life in politics.  On Sir Davids behalf the Club made a donation to his chosen charity The Greenwich and Bexley Hospice.

The Club has re-introduced The Priory Golf Society with the first friendly game in  October. 24 members turned up on the day at Pedham Place which was a great success, further events are being planned.

We have introduced a coffee and cakes morning why not come and join us at 10.30 every Monday morning and bring a friend.

QUIZ NIGHTS ARE BACK the first of the year was on Saturday 28 August, and two more on 16 October and 11 December.  A good attendance at each event with the usual diverse questions presented by George mixed with banter and a Fish and Chips Supper.


THE SUPPORT CANCER RESEARCH. Race night on Saturday 30 October was a full house again which raised over £600 for the Charity.

WHY DRINK AND DRIVE? GOOD NEWS:

A new bus route number 469 is soon to stop right outside the club, together with buses 99 and 401 there will soon be three bus routes with stops close by.

The Club is becoming ever popular as arguably our venue offers the best facilities in Belvedere for receptions, parties, wakes and business events. We pride ourselves in offering as safe an environment as possible during the Corona Virus pandemic.

The Club welcomes new members and this year for the first time has introduced reduced fees for dual membership, where wives, husbands and partners may join for a reduced fee. Call in at the club or ring for details.

 

We will try to keep members informed of events via this web site as well as the usual Email.

February 2020 presentation of prizes to the winners and finalists in the snooker competition. Jeremy Lindop winner of the singles tournament was presented with the trophy by Pat Alliston.

New Years Eve: Another great evening enjoyed by one and all. Happy New Year for 2021 and beyond.

The November  Bingo and Beetle Drive proved to be a succesful evening with further events planned for the future.

Rod Leeding a retired senior Special Branch Officer spoke to us recently  about VIP Protection. An entertaing evening enjoyed by members and Rod will be asked to talk again on further topics.

MAGIC NIGHT A great night on Saturday 14 September for on and all when Steve Dunbar intrigued us with his tricks and slight of hand.

The Club says thank you once again to Ken Chamberlain for an entertaining evening when he informed us about the local history of North Belvedere. If there is sufficient demand we will invite Ken back to the Club to educate and inform us.

A great time was had by one and all on the 29 June coach trip to Hastings, all arrived safely back in Belvedere; Sober of course!

During July and early August we distributedleaflets inviting local residents in Belvedere to visit and join the club. There has been a strong response and we welcome further members, please contact as above.
